2016 was a year of change and growth. I began taking my blog more seriously, I got a promotion, and said yes to experiences I would have normally said no to. I made new friends, and learned how to put myself out there. 2016 left me exhausted, and fulfilled.
I hope 2017 will be just as crazy (in a good way). I have three major goals this year.
Be more focused.
Yes it’s vague, but it is exactly what I need. With so many projects, new opportunities, and new ideas popping into my head constantly it becomes easy to spread myself thin. I want to focus in on what is truly important, and will enhance my lifestyle. Maybe I’ll finally write that children’s book.
Cook more meals at home.
This is a hard one for me because I love trying every new place, and eating all the foods. Unfortunately it doesn’t always love me back. Despite being at the gym twice a week (Feb – Oct, I got “too busy” to go the rest of the year) I was gaining weight. I’ve always struggled with looking in the mirror and loving who I see. It got easy for me to complain about what I saw in the mirror while blaming it on my research. Truth is, if I cook more meals at home I am more conscious of what I am putting into my body, I feel better, and I begin to love myself again.
Save more money.
I am really bad at this. I don’t like adulting. However, last year I worked so hard at eliminating debts that I feel it’s only smart to keep being fiscally responsible. It might not be fun now, but neither is having no savings in case of emergency. Maybe I’ll save some money with all those dinners I’ll be having at home.
What are your goals for the new year? How can we keep each other accountable?
Thank you for joining me so far! I can’t wait to share all the goodies I have planned for this year!
